Week commencing 12/10/15 High Street Nursery Weekly News The children enjoyed the story of Mr Pine’s Purple House and how he tried hard to make his house different from all of the rest in the street. Some of the children have made junk models of their houses and others have made houses using our construction blocks. We have enjoyed playing the game ‘The House that Jack Built’ which has helped us with our colour names and turn taking skills. Through our observations of the children we have noticed a lot of children making bridges. This week following on from the children’s interests we are going to share the story ‘The Three Billy Goats Gruff’. We will use our ‘Talk for Writing’ skills to retell the story with actions. We will explore making different bridges and enjoy acting out the story. We are going to continue to explore shapes, practising the names of shapes and using words to talk about shapes. We will go on shape hunts around the school grounds.
