IMPORTANT INFO FOR SATURDAY 16TH JULY 2011
Dear Pig ‘n’ Porter Festival Teams
The 2011 Heinz Pig ‘n’ Porter Festival has finally arrived! Congratulations to you all for
securing your team’s place in this year’s tournament, which we are proud to say is our 10th
anniversary! Massive preparations have once again been made for what is now the biggest Tag
Festival IN THE WORLD!
The Pig ‘n’ Porter Committee have implemented a few changes this year to allow them to cope
with the huge number of people who descend on Old Crescent RFC each year. ITRA have also
devised a number of regulations for the overall smooth running and successful organization of
the tournament as a whole. With 120 teams (up to 1,800 tag participants) split over 2 venues
(Old Crescent RFC & Crescent Comprehensive College), we would appreciate your cooperation in
order to ensure everyone enjoys the day.
ACCESS TO CLUB (OLD CRESCENT RFC)
The main change is to do with access to the rugby club. You will only be allowed enter the club
venue on Saturday (morning or evening) with your pre-numbered entry ticket, which the 50
teams playing in the club can pick up on Friday evening in Clohessy’s Pub/Sin Bin. Full
details below.
TEAM REGISTRATION
Team registration will take place in your allocated venue (club or school) between 11:30 and
12:00 on Saturday morning. Please make sure one of your team is at the venue between these
times to pick up your registration pack.
CAR PARKING
PLEASE CAR POOL WHERE POSSIBLE, WE ADVISE A MINIMUM OF 3 PER CAR. There is very
limited car parking available.
DRINKING AT VENUE
 PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO BRING YOUR OWN DRINK. Bag checks will be in operation
and the consumption of alcohol will not be permitted in the car parks.
 A drinks voucher system will be in operation from 16:00 on Saturday. There will be a
number of bars where the vouchers can be redeemed.
 HAPPY HOUR. Between 18:00 and 20:00, you can redeem 2 vouchers for 3 drinks.
 ALL DAY: Buy 10 drink vouchers and get one free token.
COMPLIMENTARY SHUTTLE BUS
A complimentary shuttle bus will be in operation between 18:00 and 20:00 on Saturday
between club and hotels/accommodation providers listed on PnP website. Collection/drop off
details will be available from your hotel.
APRÉS TAG FANCY DRESS COMPETITION
Although not mandatory, fancy dress is strongly encouraged. The PnP Committee have arranged
some great prize! If you want to play tag in fancy dress, the only rule is that whatever you wear
cannot obstruct your tags, ITRA would advise to wait until after the competition to get dressed
up.
JACUZZI
The pitchside Jacuzzi will be in operation throughout the day in the club. We encourage
everyone to make use of it and soak up the atmosphere - bring your trunks/bikini!!!
ACCOMMODATION
If you haven’t secured your accommodation yet - DO SO ASAP! Full lists of accommodation
details are available on the Pig n Porter website www.pignporter.com.
Please carefully read the following information, email this document to all members of your
team and print in advance of the day.
Thanks to everyone & we wish all participating teams the best of luck and hope you all enjoy the
Pig n Porter Festival!
Wishing your team all the best for what is going to be a fantastic weekend
ITRA Team & Pig N’ Porter Committee
RESTRICTED ACCESS TO OLD CRESCENT RFC (THE CLUB)
The Pig ‘n’ Porter Committee have implemented a few changes this year to allow them to cope
with the huge number of people who descend on Old Crescent RFC each year. The main change
is to do with access to the rugby club. You will only be allowed enter the club venue on
Saturday (morning or evening) with your pre-numbered player entrance ticket.
FOR TEAMS PLAYING IN CLUB
For the 50 teams playing in the rugby club (Old Crescent RFC), you must arrange to
collect your 15 x player tickets from Clohessys Bar/Sin Bin on Friday night. These 15
tickets allow 15 players or spectators entry into the rugby club on Saturday.
If you cannot make Clohessys Bar on Friday evening, please contact
james@pignporter.com immediately and the Pig ‘n’ Porter Committee will make alternate
arrangements for collection of the tickets.
N.B. No player will be allowed into the rugby club venue on Saturday morning
without a player ticket. Team captains should therefore arrange to meet and
distribute the 15 x player entry passes to team mates on Friday evening or
before you arrive for your games on Saturday morning.
FOR TEAMS PLAYING IN SCHOOL
For the 70 teams playing in the school (Crescent Comp), you will receive your 15 x
player tickets on Saturday morning when you register your team in the school. These 15
tickets allow 15 players or spectators entry into the rugby club on Saturday
afternoon/evening.
There is no need for your team to go to the club venue on Saturday morning - your team
registration pack and player entrance tickets are available from the ITRA Registration
Tent in the school.
Anyone looking to enter into the club venue at any stage on Saturday without a ticket
will be charged €15. Therefore please do not lose your 15 x player tickets!
