Role Description for Social Secretary of Glasgow Wheelchair Rugby Club The Social Secretary is responsible for arranging all social events for the club. Volunteers can put themselves forward for the role and the position will be elected at the club’s AGM and confirmed at subsequent AGMs. The Social Secretary can stay in the role as long as they like but should maintain their role through to the next AGM if possible. RESPONSIBLE TO: The Committee SKILLS REQUIRED: Well organised Good communication skills Good planner Use of a computer, internet and phone Enthusiastic about wheelchair rugby Creative and enjoys socialising Enthusiastic and a good motivator MAIN DUTIES: Organise and attend social events for the club/organisation Work closely with the Fund-Raiser to identify potential opportunities for arranging fund raising social events Motivate club members (and non members, if appropriate) to attend social events Help encourage new members into the club Ensure that the club’s Facebook and Twitter accounts are up to date SOCIAL SECRETARYS COMMITTMENT: 4-5 hours per event to organise the event and promote it Approximately half an hour a week updating the club’s social networking sites Attendance at all social events I understand the responsibilities of my role as Administrative for Glasgow Wheelchair Rugby Club and will carry these out to the best of my ability SIGNATURES: Social Secretary _________________________________ Date_______________________ Admin Secretary __________________________________________ Date_________________________
