Wills and Administrations Year 1890, District, Belfast GRAY, William Effects: £285 3s 1d 3 April. The Will of William Gray, late of Mullaghdrin, County Down, Farmer, who died 11th July 1889 at same place was proved at Belfast by William Garrett of Clintaugh, Blacksmith and Thomas Tate (Junior) of Ballykeel, Farmer, both of said County, the Executors. (First few words missing) must yield to Death I do therefore make this my last Will and Testament in form and order as follows and first I allow all my just debts and funeral charges to be paid. Secondly I bequeath to my son John my mentioned farm of land that I am living on with all the houses thereon and his divide of my cattle and farming utensils as my Executors see(s) just and equal and also the half of the field above the road off Brady’s farm he paying rent and tackses [taxes] for the same for what it measures. Thirdly I bequeath to my son Thomas Brady’s farm except part of the field above the road mentioned to my son John to be divided between the thorn bush growing thereon straight up through to the top, he paying rent and taxes and I allow him his divide of my horses and cows and farming utensils and I allow houses to be erected on his far for his accommodation to be settled up by my executors. Fourthly I bequeath to my Daughter Agness £30 pounds sterling to be paid from the money I have lodged in Ballanahinch Bank. Fifthly, I bequeath to my Daughter Jane £30 pounds sterling with the remainder of the money in the Bank and what it takes to make it perfect. Sixthly, I bequeath to my son William James £10 pounds sterling if required. Seventhly I bequeath to my wife Jane her maintenance off my property as usual while as long as my family remain single and if any of my sons marries and it to be disagreeable to her to live with them I allow her my low room to live in without any hindrance with Eight pounds sterling to be paid her by my son John and three pounds sterling to be paid her by my son Thomas during her natural life and each of them to draw their mother one half ton of coal yearly. Lastly I nominate and appoint William Garrett of Clintaugh and Thomas Tate Junior of Ballykeel to be executors of this my last Will and Testament.
