I Elizabeth Hitchcock of Haffield in the parish of Ledbury in the county of Hereford, widow, being sick in body but of good and perfect memory, thanks be unto Almighty God for it, do here make and ordain my last will and testament in manner and form following. First I give and bequeath my soul to Almighty God, hoping by the merits of my saviour Jesus Christ hereafter to enjoy eternal salvation; and my body, when I shall depart this transitory life, to Christian burial, to be buried at the will of my executor. Item I give and bequeath unto my son William Hitchcock one desk which was his father’s, and 20s. to buy him a ring. Item I give and bequeath unto my son Miles Hitchcock 40s. to buy him a ring. Item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Sara Lockwood £10, to be paid within 2 years after my decease. Item I give and bequeath to my cousin Anne Beddle 40s. And I request Christopher Stocke aforesaid, clerk, and Gilbert Beale to be overseers of this my last will and testament, to whom I give 12d. apiece; and do hereby revoke all other and former wills and testaments whatsoever.
