The market is licenced to accept cattle from TB Restricted Herds, ie. Herds that have had a TB breakdown in our Red (Slaughter only) markets subject to the following conditions: a. The animals being presented for sale must have had a negative TB test in the previous 30 days b. In order for you to bring your stock here you will need to obtain a licence (TB24B) from your local Defra Animal Health Office. Obviously there will be many concerns and questions that you may have, we will continue to update you in this publication or better still ring anytime *** SHEEP EID The following applies to movements made from 01.01.2011 – for sheep indentified since 1st January 2010 1. 2. Lambs/Hoggets destined for slaughter before they reach 12 months of age and identified with a single tag bearing flock mark (electronic or manual) These sheep can be recorded on movement documents as a batch. There is NO requirement to list all the flock numbers, even when a “batch within batch” consignment is moved. Lambs/ Hoggets (Stores) must be double tagged and must be electronic These sheep MUST be individually identified on the movement document, unless they are moving to Newark or any other approved CPRC (Central Point Recording Centre) where the tags will be read and recorded on behalf of the keeper. Keepers using the CPRC facility must populate their Holding Register with the read information within 48 hours of the sheep leaving their holding Holding Registers: 1. ALL sheep moved MUST be recorded in the keepers Holding Register “Keepers” include: farmers, dealers, markets, abattoirs etc. This has been a requirement since 31 st December 2009. Plenty of buyers in attendance and more could have been well sold. Store Cattle A decent seasonal entry and some nice cattle forward at the top end of the entry. Trade was a fast as ever with plenty of customers present. Top price today was achieved by Robert Rowlinson, Ashbourne who sold Limousin and Blue heifers 13 months old to £1100 and Limousin bulls 15 months old to £980.
