Freelance Project Manager Salary: £150 per day Hours: 26 days (2 days a week for 3 months) Job Status: Freelance / Part-time The position will be based at the Generator office in Newcastle upon Tyne. Part-funded by Part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) 2007-13 Closing date for applications: Wednesday 22nd April 5.00pm Interviews: Thursday 30th April 2015 Attitude is Everything Attitude is Everything (AiE) improves Deaf and disabled people’s access to live music by working in partnership with audiences, artists and the music industry to implement a Charter of Best Practice across the UK. Of their many successes to date, highlights include working with Festival Republic and Ground Control on all of their UK festivals, supporting Academy Music Group and National Arena Association venues to sign up to the Charter, and working with London Borough of Tower Hamlets to use the Charter of Best Practice as an event standard for all festivals taking place in Victoria Park. Although AiE have a national remit, internal research and feedback from partners has shown greater engagement with the North East is required. Freelance position The freelance Project Manager will be managed by AiE but based at Generator’s office in Newcastle. They will: Consult with 100 Deaf and disabled people (region-wide); Deliver 6 focus groups in conjunction with partners and users to tackle barriers to accessibility; Recruit and induct 50 NE mystery shoppers; Identify Deaf and disabled people that can act as mentors to new and existing mystery shoppers; Find new regional partners/collaborators (disability organisations, music education hubs, venues and festivals); Produce a final report that will be presented to all partners, informing the strategy of each. The pilot will help users develop transferable and life skills, and provide vocational opportunities (all boosting employability); map future employment prospects and networks in support; and inform AiE’s regional strategy to build on Deaf and disabled people’s talents and potential to instigate change and stimulate the regional economy.
