The increasingly intensive global competition requires all companies to look for innovative ideas in product and
service design, and in organizing the design, production and service process at the lowest cost and with the best
quality. This requires innovative academic research to provide scientifically based methodologies and techniques and
also efficient implementation of new technologies, especially information technologies.
The goal of this conference is to bring researchers and professionals from all relevant disciplines (system theory
and systems engineering, marketing and organizational behavior, logistics and operations management, quality
assurance, information technology, etc) together to discuss issues and share their research and development results
and experience. Authors are invited to submit their original and unpublished work in this area.

Call for Contributed Papers
Contributed papers should be written in English and sent by email to: iesm07@hfut.edu.cn. The first page of
each paper must include the title of the paper, name(s) and affiliation(s) of the author(s), abstract of the paper, postal
address, phone and fax numbers, and email address of the corresponding author(s). Both full papers and extended
abstracts of no more than 4 pages are accepted for submission to judge the suitability of the contribution to the theme
of the conference, though full papers are preferred. In the submission, the author(s) must clearly state the problem
treated, the methodology used, the results secured, and the significance of the research to either practice or theory.
Papers and extended abstracts will be peer-reviewed for technical merit and content. To be eligible for publication in
the Conference proceedings, an accepted paper must be presented at the Conference by one of the authors. One or
more student session(s) will be arranged for doctoral students to present their doctoral research.
Based on the reviews and presentations, about 30 papers will be selected and reviewed again for publication in
special issues of prestigious international journals. Three best papers including at least one best student paper will
receive a prize of US$500 each.

Call for Sessions and Tracks
The goal of special sessions (5 papers) and special tracks (at least two sessions) is to provide focused discussions
on new topics or innovative applications. Each prospective session/track organizer must submit a proposal, including
the title of the session, and a list of authors with extended abstracts.

Conference Venue and Social Program
The conference will be held in Friendship Hotel, Beijing (Peking), the capital of China. A trip to Hefei and
Huangshan Mountains will also be arranged.
