Approximately 2-3 weeks will be spent per unit. There will be a comprehensive midterm and final.
Emphasis will be placed on learning, understanding, and retaining the material. Throughout the
semester, formative assessments along with summative chapter quizzes and tests will be given. If
students do not do well, they will be asked to go back and get extra help. Students need to ask questions
often and do homework so that they do not get behind. There are lots of resources within the text that
should be utilized such as example problems and definitions within each section as well as selected
homework answers, a reference of symbols, postulates, theorems, properties and a visual glossary in the
back of the text . Online resources will also be available at PowerGeometry.com. Students will be able
to access their text, video tutorials, workbook, and other resources with a username and password that
we will assign.

Be Respectful

Listen when someone is speaking.

Use appropriate language at all times.

Participate in class by asking questions, taking notes, working examples, doing guided practice,
and staying on task during activities and groupwork.

NO PURSES OR BAGS ON TOP OF DESK OR IN LAP DURING CLASS. You will be asked to hand
in a cell phone if the contents of your purse or the pocket of your sweatshirt seems to be extremely
interesting to you.
Be On Time

You will be counted tardy if you are not completely in the classroom before the bell starts
ringing.

Stay in your seat until the bell rings to dismiss.

Get out books, materials, homework, etc. immediately when the bell rings to begin class.
Be Prepared

Bring all supplies to class every day: pencil, paper, notebook, book, TI-83/84 calculator.

Turn in daily homework when asked.

Turn in notebooks on test day when asked.

Stay caught up on class work and homework. Please, please ask questions during class or come
before/after school.


Tests and quizzes should be taken on the day scheduled.

If you must leave the classroom for an emergency, get permission to fill out the class hall pass
and have me to initial it.
Be Honest

Do your own work. A grade of zero will automatically be given to both parties involved in
cheating.

Do not talk during assessments until everyone has finished. Any talking will be assumed as
cheating.
