Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics, a Johnson & Johnson Company, is a leading provider of
high-value diagnostic products and services for the global health care community. For
more that half a century, the company had been committed to providing accurate, timely,
and cost-effective solutions for screening, diagnosing, monitoring and confirming
In response to rapid changes in technology and market needs, Ortho has established an
organization focusing on the development of cancer molecular and cellular
diagnostic products.
As a result of recent progress, the Molecular Diagnostic Business Unit is recruiting key
R&D personnel to build on earlier research success and to expedite the development of
novel and important molecular diagnostic products.

You will focus on opportunities in bioinformatics that arise in the context of analysis and
dissemination of molecular information and utilization of this new knowledge in cancer
diagnostics. This entails analyzing gene expression data from discovery results and
literature to determine relevance; developing and applying statistical methods to correlate
molecular data with clinical data; and assisting in the evaluation of third party analytical
software/tools. You’ll also participate in the development of algorithms to interpret the
results of signature-based diagnostic assays.
To qualify, you must have a Ph.D. in biology and 2+ years of experience in
bioinformatics as well as a background in gene expression profiling, database design and
query and computer programming languages. Knowledge of Oracle database, Perl
scripting language, Visual Basic and/or Unix is highly desirable, as is familiarity
with Cancer Biology.
