B-TRADE, beyond cardboard.
Corrugated cardboard in a new perspective.
B-Trade, a young company born from the talent of a team of professionals who have
been dealing with corrugated cardboard for years, present itself in a more contemporary
fashion through the 2014 series of lamps and furnishing accessories combining experimentation,
handicraft and design, in an eco-friendly perspective, for an entirely “made in Italy” project.
Research, design, handicraft and ecological sustainability inspire the production of corrugated cardboard
pieces of furniture and accessories branded B-Trade. A young company, born from the experience of a
team of professionals who have been dealing with corrugated cardboard packaging for years, and thanks to
the well-established activity of the Mauro Benedetti S.p.a. in Perugia.
The heart of the project is cardboard, in terms of packaging, design, creation of display stands, equipment
for exposition spaces and the creation of printing plates for flexographic printing. B-Trade presents it in a
more contemporary fashion, offering highly original and creative furniture and furnishing accessories.
Research, planning and technology for a clean and essential design, that plays with functional and aesthetic
logics. The 2014 series B-Trade, designed in collaboration with designers Giulio Patrizi, Mario Tassoni, the
studio Sedicilab and Francesco Paretti, also Art Director of the company, include items that range from
lamps and libraries, to seat systems and many more.
Items that are contemporary, eco-friendly and eco-compatible. B-Trade uses only FSC certified cardboard,
the trademark of responsible forest management that identifies the products coming from correctlymanaged forests that are handled and certified according to social and economic environmental principles
and/or post-consumer recycling (www.fsc.org – www.fsc-italia.it). Furthermore, each B-Trade product is
totally recyclable, all components are detachable from the “raw material” of the cardboard itself, to make
it until the end an item that is eco-compatible and consistent to the company’s green philosophy.
The new 2014 series introduces an important novelty: the use of linoleum.
Linoleum, a resilient material normally used for flooring patented in 1800, has the characteristic to be
totally natural, realized with a mixture of natural resin of linen, wood and cork, available in sheets in a wide
range of colors and finishings, manufactured using the same technologies as corrugated cardboard (Plotter
cut) and because it makes the corrugated cardboard items more resistant to use and water.
Each product branded B-Trade is unique, handmade and entirely made in Italy; this makes each item
exclusive and of precious handicraft.
