B-Trade, more than just cardboard.
Seeing corrugated cardboard from a new perspective.
B-Trade, a young firm created from the intuition of a team of professionals with years of
experience working with corrugated cardboard packaging, is giving a contemporary spin to the
product with a range of lamps and furnishings that combines experimentation, craftsmanship
and design in a completely eco-sustainable format, for a completely “Made in Umbria” project.
PERUGIA – Research, design, functionality, eco-sustainability and the capacity to work well with other
materials: this is the inspiration behind the collection of items and furnishings created in corrugated
cardboard presented by B-Trade, an Umbrian firm based in Perugia.
B-Trade is a young firm created from the experience of a team of professionals with years of experience
working in corrugated cardboard packaging and thanks to the backing of established business Mauro
Benedetti S.p.A. in Perugia.
The heart of the project is cardboard (used for packaging, design, display construction, furnishing trade fair
stands and flexographic printing stamps), which B-Trade is presenting with a contemporary twist, offering
highly original and creative items and furnishings.
Research, design and tehcnology combine to create an essential and clean design, which plays with
functional and aesthetic logic. The first B-Trade collection, designed in collaboration with design studio
Sedicilab, includes items from lamps and small tables through to seating systems and much, much more.
Contemporary, eco-sustainable and eco-friendly furnishings. In fact, B-Trade only uses cardboard certified
by FSC, the responsible forestry management trademark which identifies products sourced from correctly
managed forests, certified as environmentally appropriate, socially beneficial and economically viable
and/or from post-consumer recycling (www.fsc.org - www.fsc-italia.it). Moreover, all B-Trade products are
completely recyclable and all the components can be separated from the “raw material” of the cardboard
itself, making the item eco-friendly through and through, in line with the firm’s green philosophy.
Regarding furnishings, weaves, textures, lights and shadows become the protagonists of any setting,
illuminating, revealing and exalting the essence of cardboard, casting it in an entirely new light.
B-Trade also produces accessories, meeting the demand for simple, smaller furnishing items that border on
playful.
Our collection of lamps in corrugated cardboard draw the attention to a play of shadows, combinations of
materials and intricate backlit designs, all expressed by an essential design in which experimentation is
backed by skilled craftsmanship.

Some of the most characteristic products in our new line include: FLO’ (a table or wall lamp with simple
lines that plays with light, using the colours in which it is available and the various positions it can take),
GENIA (classic style and experimentation, combined in a single product; an experimental twist on a classic
lamp, in multi-layered cardboard coupled with two of the most ancient materials in history: wood and
ceramics) and lastly, the DEDA BACO and NUVOLA suspension lamps (in which each sheet of cardboard
collaborates with its neighbour to form a series of weaves, waves and grosgrains to create a play of
silhouettes and shadows).
Our seating systems, tables and furnishings on the other hand include: PRIMO (a series of tables with a
clean design, produced in two sizes, composed of cardboard blades to be assembled on two central
crowns); SIBILLA (a “self-assembling” chair with interlocking pieces, elements and hinges playing a central
role in a compact and light product); BIANCA (white as snow, this is a composed and reflective chair, with a
simple and essential design); RAGTIME (a chair made from multi-layered cardboard with soft and
encompassing forms, offering ergonomic, stable and robust features); POLA (a family of furnishing
accessories that border on sculptures, characterised by soft, circular lines, making an ideal table
decoration) and lastly HALO, one of the first products created by the B-Trade technical studio (a coffee
table made from multi-layered cardboard, combining the texture of cardboard with the transparency of a
glass surface).

Packaging
Our longstanding experience with packaging allows B-Trade to meet any client requirements, including
specific needs such as: consultancy for packaging design, production of special packaging solutions and
“moving house” kits.
Production of flexographic printing stamps
B-Trade starts with the packaging and develops the details to their best possible form: in fact, one of the
firm’s main activities is the creation of stamps for flexographic printing.
Displays and stands
B-Trade designs and creates all kinds of displays, all completely customisable in terms of form, contents
and graphics. Starting from the displays, our in-house technical studio, together with specialists in the
sector when necessary, designs and creates furnishings and displays for exhibition spaces, trade fairs,
temporary shops, offering a full “turnkey” service.
In this field, we also take part in important events such as the famous “Umbria Jazz” music festival, which
we have supported for three years running thanks to our cardboard furnishings used to personalise the
backstage areas of the concerts.
