World Population Density Simulation
Directions:
1. Each person will be assigned one African country.
2. Each student will get two pieces of cardboard that is 12 inches square. That square
represents a square mile in their country.
3. On your piece of cardboard you need to have the country labeled and a picture of
their flag. Also have the:
Population, total square miles, population density, birthrate, death rate, population
growth rate, date of independence and type of government.
4. Each individual will receive a number of dried beans. You need to glue as many
beans on your square as your country’s population density.
5. You must complete two squares for each country. Make your squares colorful and
interesting.
