General Information:
The Fisher Mini Centrifuge is a personal centrifuge provided with two rotors; one for microtubes and one for PCR strip tubes.
The 6 x 1.5mL rotor is designed to centrifuge up to six individual 1.5mL plastic microcentrifuge tubes. It will also accept 0.5mL and 0.4mL tubes with the adapter set supplied. The strip tube rotor is designed to centrifuge two 8 x 0.2mL strip tubes. It will also accept up to 16 individual 0.2mL tubes. Both rotors are designed for applications requiring relatively low g-forces, such as microfiltration, cell separation, and quick spin downs from the walls of tubes.
Operation:
Operation of the ( Fisher Part #?) is started by closing the lid and turning the on/off switch in the rear of the unit to the ON ( | ) position. To stop the rotation, press the on/off switch to the OFF ( O ) position. Once the rotor has stopped moving, the lid may be opened by pressing the tab on the front of the unit. Moving parts may cause injury. DO NOT OPEN THE LID UNTIL THE ROTOR STOPS. Tubes and/or adapters must always be loaded symmetrically to ensure the rotor is properly balanced. Failure to do so presents a hazardous condition and will damage the centrifuge.
To change rotors, loosen the set screw with an allen wrench; pull off the rotor; press the new rotor all the way on to the shaft; retighten the set screw.
Safety Precautions
NEVER Use the centrifuge in any manner not specified in these instructions
NEVER
NEVER
Fill tubes while they are in the rotor. Liquid spillage may harm the unit
Put hands in the rotor area unless the rotor is completely stopped.

ALWAYS
ALWAYS
ALWAYS
Move the centrifuge while the rotor is spinning.
Use solvents or flammables near this or other electrical equipment
Centrifuge flammable, explosive or corrosive materials
Centrifuge hazardous materials outside of a hood or containment facility
Push the rotor all the way on to the shaft, then tighten the set screw
Load the rotor symmetrically. Each tube should be counter-balanced by another tube directly opposite it. Each tube inserted may not exceed a weight of 3.0 grams
Use only microcentrifuge tubes made from plastic and designed to withstand centrifugal forces of at least 1000 x g.
Cleaning:
Before using any cleaning or decontamination methods except those recommended by the manufacturer, check with the manufacturer that the proposed method will not damage the equipment. To clean the mini centrifuge, use a damp cloth and a mild, non-corrosive detergent (pH<8). After cleaning, ensure all parts are dried.
