PSYCHIATRIC NURSE PRACTITIONER
Position Summary
The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner provides behavioral health and psychiatric services to patients referred through Camillus House and other community partners.
Responsibilities
Provide assessment and diagnosis. Provide mental health counseling. Prescribe and manage medications. Coordinate patient care with the Behavioral Health Team, clinical services, the Camillus House Institute of Personal and Social Adjustment
(ISPA), and community agencies. Participate and promote all quality improvement related activities as delineated by Quality Team Leader. Ensure integration of behavioral health and psychiatric care with primary health care. Implement patient self-management tools. Participate in Clinical Case conferences. Be an advocate for clients within Camillus and the community. Work effectively and professionally with
Camillus staff and community partners. Follow all protocols as delineated in CHC’s
Medical and all other policies and procedures. Provide services within the guidelines of CHC’s Clinical Policy and procedure manual. Document and maintain accurate health records. Meet appropriate biennial requirements for licensing and continued education as per the Florida Board of Nursing. Participate in CHC’s health professional activities as delineated by the Director of Behavioral Health Services
Role Qualifications
Valid license to practice medicine in the state of Florida.
Eligible for Medicaid/Medicare provider status
Bilingual (English and Spanish), Creole a plus
Experience with public health issues as it relates to health center needs
Behavioral health and psychiatric experience in a community-based health setting.
Sensitive to the needs of the homeless and underserved populations.
Receptive to a multicultural patient environment.
Leadership qualities with excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
