Grading and Attendance
The grades in class are earned on a point system in these areas:
1. Photography projects turned in on time: This semester there will be a variety of assigned
picture-taking assignments. The photos must be taken during the semester. We will print a
variety of photos and photos not in the appropriate folder and ready to print on the assigned due
date will not receive full points. Photographs must be taken outside class time in order to have
sufficient time to edit and prepare photographs for printing during the class period. No student
should ask to leave during class to take photographs.
2. Tests: There will be a term final and a semester final. The semester final in this class is the
state CTE Digital Photography Test.
3. Quizzes.
4. Worksheets and other assignments: There will be a research assignment which will be
completed during second and fourth term. This assignment will be an out-of-class assignment.
Students will also complete a photography journal which will be turned in at the end of each term
to be graded.
5. Participation: This includes attendance, being prepared daily, and citizenship. Disruptive or
non-working students may lose up to 10 daily points. Points will be given or taken away
depending on how a student is working in class.
The cumulative points from these tests, projects, and other assignments are converted into
percentages for the grade earned. The total points earned will be divided by the total number of
points possible to find the percentage.
PERCENTAGE BREAKDOWN:
A: 94-100%
A-: 90-93%
B+: 87-89%
B: 84-86%
B-: 80-83%
C+: 77-79%
C: 74-76%
C-: 70-73%
D+:67-69%
D: 64-66%
D-: 60-63%
F: 59% and below
Make-up work is the responsibility of the student. A student needs to find out what work
or test was missed due to absence, and make up these assignments as quickly as possible.
Students may expect to receive the results of tests and major assignments as quickly as
possible, usually within a week. If students desire to know their percentage total, that information
is available on the internet through Skyward. Students can either access this information at home
or on a school computer.

Class Rules and Procedures
1. CLEAN-UP: Each student is responsible for the care of his/her possessions, work, and
material, and to keep the working area clean. Any lost or stolen materials or possessions will be
the responsibility of the students and not the teacher or school. Participation points will be lost if
students do not clean up after themselves and complete cleaning assignments given by the
teacher.
2. CELL PHONES: The school’s policy on cell phones will be enforced in my classroom. No
cell phones should be seen or heard unless they are being used for class assignments.
3. COMPUTERS: The computers in my room are used for editing photographs and other
photography assignments. Under no condition are they to be used for games. No student should
download anything from the internet onto a computer. All students must log-in under their
student ID and all students must sign the internet permission form required by the school and
district.
4. RESPECT FOR MISS TUTTLE’S POSSESSIONS AND SUPPLIES: No student should ever
be behind Miss Tuttle’s desk or touching her computer. Supplies cost a lot of money and should
never be wasted.
5. PREPARATION: Each student is expected to attend daily with the materials needed to work
on the current project. The student should have these materials at the beginning of the class
period and not ask to go to a locker for such items after the bell has rung. Students who leave
class without permission and without a hall pass automatically loose 50 participation points and
will be marked truant.
6. CHEATING: Cheating in any form is prohibited in my classroom. Stealing photos off the
internet and turning them in is as your own work is completely unacceptable. Stealing another
student’s photos and turning them in as your own work is also completely unacceptable. Any
student found cheating on any assignment, quiz, or test will receive a zero for that assignment
and will not be allowed to make it up. Any student found cheating more than once will be
moved from my class to another.
7. ARC TIME: I do allow my students to complete ARC’s in my classroom. I do not give
ARC’s to any student who is not currently my student. Students must have the ARC Student
Proposal Form printed and filled out and they must inform me at the beginning of the ARC time
what they intend to do. This is as my schedule allows and I do not give ARC time during Pride
time.
