REQUIREMENTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE IB DIPLOMA PROGRAMME/CAREER PROGRAMME COORDINATOR Requirements Previous IB experience required Current principal recommendation required IB Diploma Programme (DP) experience preferred High school teaching and/or curriculum coaching experience preferred Responsibilities Attend additional IB DP and CP Coordinator training Work with administration to oversee the student selection process Ensure that candidates meet programme and examination requirements and fulfill IBO regulations Ensure that textbooks, resources and facilities are available according to the needs of the diploma/career programmes Ensure that all IB staff have access to relevant publications and updated resource materials and are fully informed of current programme content and subject requirements Ensure that all IB regulations set forth in the Learner Profile booklet, Standards and Practices, Principles into Practice, Handbook of Procedures, and Basis for Practice as well as subject guides and the Vade Mecum are followed Coordinate administration of the final examinations, ensuring that all conditions for conducting examinations are met Analyze overall IB examination results and oversee the analysis of individual department results Organize regular staff meetings for review of student progress and discussion of appropriate strategies to ensure best performance Work with the IB staff to establish an internal calendar of deadlines in order to spread the student and staff workload over the two years and to guarantee completion of all IB requirements Ensure that all deadlines are met for Internal and External Assessment, student registration through IBIS, CAS, Extended Essay, reflective project, ATL and TOK Delegate coordination of DP components such as CAS and Extended Essay, as well as CP components such as reflective project, language portfolio, and community and service Lead professional development for DP/CP teachers through meetings, workshops and coaching Ensure that all IB staff are informed of and adhere to IBO regulations Advise and support IB staff Ensure that accurate student records are maintained Ensure that examination transcripts/diplomas/certificates are distributed to candidates upon receipt from IBO Accommodate transfer students by liaising with their previous schools and/or providing the receiving schools with necessary information Coordinate with the Counselor/Careers Advisor to provide information and guidance about further studies, careers and scholarship opportunities, making sure that students obtain the appropriate references and that transcripts are forwarded to universities Enforce DP/CP policies for Assessment, Academic Honesty, Language, and Special Educational Needs Counsel DP/CP students on course selection, college admissions and career planning Maintain regular communication with all DP/CP stakeholders (students, teachers, parents, SIHS administrators, I-SS IB Director and IBO) Serve as DP and CP Programme advocate for all stakeholders (students, parents, teachers, administrators) Inform parents of the rules and regulations of IB Contribute to the marketing of the programmes within and outside the school Keep copies of all correspondence with IBO including forms, documents, and reports Facilitate self-study in preparation for evaluation site visit Coordinate site level logistics regarding evaluation visit Identify and recruit DP/CP teachers (under guidance of SIHS principal) and recruit DP/CP students Design DP/CP schedule in coordination with SIHS data manager Teach DP or MYP courses as scheduling demands provided release time is never less than 50 percent (IBO does not count planning periods as release time) Perform other duties as assigned by SIHS principal (commensurate with size of DP cohort) Oversee school IB budget for student fees, training, technology and supplies Serve as liaison to IB Boosters, a 501c3 parent organization Serve as liaison to IB Director and Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction
