Course Description:
Preparation for the State of Washington pesticide-licensing exam with a special
focus on wine grapes. Successful completion of this and the state exam will result in
issuance of the Washington State Pesticide License.

Describe Washington State Pesticide Laws.
Identify different formulas and their functions and calculate them properly.
Recognize pesticide chemical groups and formulations.
Show knowledge of how to use application equipment.
Identify different types of record keeping and their criteria for completeness.
List the different fates of pesticides in the environment.
Label a diagram of an insect.
Identify properly the cause of a plant symptom and its pesticide control.
Practice safety and first aid of pesticides and show proper pesticide handling.
Calibrate equipment for different chemical applications.
Demonstrate knowledge of Best Management Practices with an emphasis on
Integrated Pest Management.
L. Identify the problem and its solutions when dealing with a plant symptom,
using insects or plant diseases as criteria.
M. Identify all of the parts of the label and use these to apply the chemical
correctly.
