Hanson committed in the Statement Of Common Ground for the NCAAP EIP to make an application by Summer 2011 and to date there has been limited pre-app discussions. Comment: Meeting held with Brain Chapman & Alex Smiles and agreed Hanson to make application ASAP likely Feb/Mar 2013. David Brittain to liaise regard restoration levels. CT advised important to try and incorporate public access and bio-diversity Recycling Area Reshape screening bunds to conform with approved plans. Reduce volume of unprocessed and processed material to 20,000 tonnes as required by condition 15 and reduce stockpiles to 5m high as required by condition 20 of ESS/25/08/CHL. Comment: Hanson seeking to find new operator. Do not wish to pursue NMA for larger bunding, wish to remove excessive bunding and address stockpiles left in recycling area. Hanson considering use in restoration of silt lagoons. CT advised may need pp as no permission for importation of materials for restoration in Bulls Lodge permissions. Inspection results summary: Access road Junction lining at the bell mouth has warn away at entrance. CT has raised with Highway Authority. Some posts preventing overrun along the access road have been damaged lost and need replacing. Quarry & processing area Next phase of working fully stripped of sub and topsoil and utilised to restore previous area. Hollows in previously restored phases not addressed at time of visit. Extraction taking place during visit. Conveyor relocated to new position and spur to face to be installed shortly. Restoration Phases 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 are restored and 7 in progress, but these areas have not been restored in accordance with the approved Restoration Masterplan levels, particularly on the eastern edges of these phases as they should be sloping towards the edge of the lake, in certain areas the land has been restored to agriculture when it will be in the lake as approved. Hedge planting and woodland was required on phases 4, 5 and 6 to form field boundaries this planting has not been undertaken. These issues will be addressed in application to be submitted in Feb/Mar 2013. Phases 4 to 6 in crop harvested. Recycling Area No operator on site, no change from last visit, site very full about ½ of storage/processing area filled with unprocessed inerts, remainder stockpiles of sorted material. Reject tarmac has now been stored by Hanson in the recycling area. Screening bunds surrounding the lorry parking area and recycling area, do not conform to approved plans. NMA by MEG not to be progressed, bunds required to conform to approved plans, requiring removal of material, shaping and seeding of bunds as required by permission. Screening of gravel taking place by Hanson within eastern end of site adjacent to recycling weighbridge. 2 The area of recycled and virgin materials for sale is very dispersed contained bays would be more efficient. Planting under taken in Park Farm area Advanced planting was undertaken around Park Farm, this planting needs maintenance, replacement of losses and management of weeds.
