In light of the description of the leadership board (see attached document) how are you being called to serve on the board? 2 Leadership Board Description and Responsibilities The leadership Board will consist of 12 lay members of St Marks UMC and the Senior pastor. All members are committing to a three year term with a rotation process and roster (4 members rotating off every year) being determined in the first year. The Leadership Board is responsible to protect and champion the vision, values and mission of St Marks United Methodist Church and to approve significant ministry decisions. The board will meet approximately 12 times a year on a date and time to be determined by the board for the work of accomplishing the mission of the Leadership Board. The Leadership Board absorbs all responsibilities of the administrative roles/grouping defined in the Unite Methodist Book of Discipline (Staff Pastor Relations committee, Trustees, Administrative Board, Nominations Committee and Finance committee) It is recommended that these members have expertise in one or more of these areas: Human Resource Development: personnel management, hiring and training Operations Development: Administration, facility/site development, communication and public relations Stewardship: Financial management, congregational stewardship Ministry: Evangelism, discipleship, missions and outreach St Marks Core Values Passionate and Authentic Worship Culturally-relevant, Biblically based and technologically-current worship Invitational Community Building relationships by reaching out to our community Growing in Our Faith Focusing on growing mature disciples through small groups and Bible studies that are scripturally based Sacrificial Service Serving our neighbors and our world and cultivating an understanding of how God calls ALL persons to ministry as an outward expression of an inward change Generous Giving Giving from all with which God has blessed us Faith at Home Equipping families to live principles of faith in our homes 3 St Marks Core Beliefs We believe the identity of God as one living and true God, everlasting and without end, of infinite power, revealed to us in the Trinity, three persons of one substance—the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost.
