Ultraviolet Light Detecting Beads Lab
 Students will design and conduct a lab
using ultraviolet light detecting beads.
 Possible Experiments:
o Test sun glasses for the effectiveness
of their UV protection
o Test sun tan lotion or sun block lotion
for the effectiveness of their UV
protection
o Test lotion with SPF for the
effectiveness of their UV protection
o Measure the UV light emitted from the
sun by making a UV detecting
bracelet
o Investigate UV absorption using eye
glasses, windshields, glass, etc.
 Lab write up should include the following:
 Question
 Hypothesis
 Procedure
 Data Collection
 Conclusion (including a correlation
statement)
