My Home Reading Log Name____________________ Day Time Spent Reading Parent Signature Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday Saturday Sunday Dear Parents, Please ensure that your children read for 10-15 min each day Monday through Thursday. Children are also encouraged to read on weekends or to have a parent, sibling or friend read to them. Time spent reading to your child may also be included in the log as long as your student read for the required 10-15 min Monday through Thursday. Thanks, Kim Spatz. Dear Parents, What a busy week we have ahead of us! On Tuesday there will be photo retakes and free dress for everyone! On Thursday we celebrate Mass. I hope your children were all able to practice their reading parts which were sent home on Friday. Please continue to practice parts throughout the week. This reading can be included in the reading log. Everyone should also have received a saint costume on Friday. Please feel free to use a different costume if you prefer or to add props. Children should wear the costume to school Thursday morning. They may wear their uniforms underneath or bring their uniforms to school to change into after Mass. Please note that children should be at school as early as possible on Thursday. On Friday we will celebrate Halloween. I love this holiday! There will be a parade in the morning and a carnival in the afternoon. Children may wear costumes to school but be aware that students cannot wear masks or carry weapons in class. Much of this week we will spend practicing and preparing for Mass and we will also be engaged in lots of fun Halloween activities. However we will be doing some regular school work! In math this week we will focus on number sense and learn about odd and even numbers. In spelling we will be looking at the vowel digraph “oo” as in food or cartoon. We are also looking at the homonyms too, to and two. I hope you all have a chance to read our Wonderful Weekly News each week to discover what your children think is the important school news of the week. Have a spooky Halloween and a blessed All Saints’ Day!
