Welcome back to a new school year! I am
excited to have your child in my class. If
you have any questions throughout the year
please do not hesitate to email me. I
emailed out a welcome letter last week. If
you did not receive it please let me know.

Math – Chapter 1
Students will add using addition strategies.
Students will learn to use mental math and
the break apart strategy to help them add.
Rocket Math –
We will start our rocket math on addition
facts. Please help your child review their
basic addition facts. They should be able
to complete 40 problems in one minute and
80 problems in two

Reading –
This week we will read First Day Jitters. We
will focus on the character, setting, and plot.
Spelling Words –
Clap, step, sick, rock, luck, crop, snack, mess,
head, shut, miss, stamp, jump, click, pond, cat,
man, can, bathtub, anthill
Bonus: gushed chuckled, tunnel, slump
Vocabulary Words –
Nonsense, nervous, chuckled, fumbled, trudged
Grammar –
Students will identify complete sentences.
They will identify if the sentence is a
command or exclamation.

Religion
Chapter 1- Students will explore the
beauty of all God’s creation. Students will
finish the chapter and have a test on
