That Man Is You! has just begun for the second year and is a great way to go deeper in the spiritual life with other men. It begins every Friday morning with breakfast at 5:45am, a presentation at 6:15am and small group discussions and reflections at 6:45am – finishing by
7:15am. Please contact Bob Walsh (303-499-9580, bob7338@earthlink.net) for more information or just show up on any or every Friday morning.
This event will be completed by the time you receive this newsletter. Please see the third quarter Boulder Knights newsletter for details. Also presented in that newsletter is information on the Denver Archdiocese FOCUS 11 2010 on October 4,5 & 6.
Our council will be participating in our Tootsie Roll Drive at the Boulder Safeway stores this
Saturday, Oct 2. Last weekend’s drive at the King Soopers stores was successful, but we could have used additional Knights. Please help us with the drive this Saturday. It would be helpful if you let Dick Bryant know if you plan to help at either 303-444-0876 or at his email as follows: richard.bryant@Colorado.EDU.
All members of the Boulder Council and their families are invited to join together for a
Corporate Communion at Sacred Heart of Mary Parish at the 9am Mass. You may also invite a prospective member and his family to join us. What better way is there to show our solidarity as brothers in the Catholic faith and as members of the Knights of Columbus than to share in the
Liturgy of the Eucharist together as one body? As we participate in this Corporate Communion let us thank Our Lord for all the blessings we have received from being a K of C member and pray for all of the members and families in our Council. Contact Dick Deters (303-499-6851, deters59@mac.com) or Jeremy Buch (720-271-5486, Jeremy@buch.org) for questions.

The Halloween Carnival is now an All Saints Festival. The date is Monday, November 1 st
and will start with Mass at 5:30 pm followed by a potluck. The specifics aren’t finalized yet, but
George Ketchel does anticipate there will be some opportunities for the Knights to get in and assist with things. Fr. Mallick has assumed the role of coordinator for the event so he will be the best one to brainstorm with. The youth will have a few carnival games for the younger kids like in years past. Please follow up with George Ketchel (303-499-8989 x209,
George@sacredheartofmary.com) or Father Mallick (frmallick@sacredheartofmary.com) if you are available to help.
Our annual Memorial Mass for deceased members will take place at 7:30 PM on Wednesday,
Nov. 17 at our Council home. Our Council Chaplain, Msgr. Edward Madden, will be the celebrant and all Knights and their families are invited to join in this service to remember our deceased Brothers. This is an impressive Eucharistic celebration during which each deceased
Brother's name is intoned from the Honor Roll of Boulder Knights. As Catholics believing in the reward of eternal life once our sins have been expiated, we have the duty to pray for the souls of those who were dear to us on this earth. If you know of any of our members who no longer drive or a widow of one of our deceased members, invite them and offer to give them a ride to this
Mass. Refreshments will be served following the Mass Contact: Joe Hibl.
Keep Christ in Christmas is an annual reminder from the Knights. Start your Christmas by bringing your family and friends to our annual “Light Up For Christmas” social on Sunday, Dec
5. We will start gathering at 4:00 PM. Our Chaplain will bless the Advent Wreath and Nativity
Set at 5:15. This will be followed by a potluck dinner at 5:30. Stories, carols and maybe even a visit from jolly old St. Nick will top off the evening. We’ve moved this social to a Sunday to allow for an earlier start time for visiting and earlier finish time for early-to-bed youngsters (and oldsters). Join your brothers and their families to get that Christmas spirit alive in all of us.
Please bring a main dish to serve 6 adults AND a snack, salad or dessert.
Knights, we need your help on Saturday, Nov. 27 to decorate our council home. Contact Dick
Deters, (303) 499-6851.
Our council has 34 good seats reserved for the show Hello Dolly at the Boulder Dinner
Theater on Wednesday, Jan. 19. Hello Dolly is full of memorable songs including Put On Your
Sunday Clothes, Ribbons Down My Back, Before the Parade Passes By, Elegance, Hello, Dolly,
It Only Takes a Moment, and So Long, Dearie. Although this is in the next quarter, we’ll need your commitment (meaning your check) by Dec. 17. Cost this year is $40 per person. My advice is to take the head count of family and guests and bring a check made out to BDT when you come to the Christmas social on Dec. 5. Don’t get shut out, we filled 28 seats last year.
