Mrs. Moore’s Lesson Plans 5th/6th Grade Spanish 4/19/10-4/23/10 5th Grade Spanish Day 1: Objective: Students will complete skits from last week. Some will learn the days of the week and the months of the year in Spanish. Standard & Benchmark: Procedure: 28.A.1a, 28.B.1b, 28.D.2b Students in Zitkus’ class have one more group to perform their skit and then teacher will introduce days of the week and months of the year in Spanish to students. Schaefer’s class will complete performances and if time permits will also be introduced to days of the week and months of the year in Spanish. Students in Stokoski’s and Pelkowski’s class will perform their conversation skits. Methodology: Direct Instruction, Individual Practice, Guided Practice, Modeling, Hands-on Assignment: Performance of mini conversations/Completion of notes Assessment: Performance of mini conversations/Completion of notes Day 2: Objective: Students will either learn the days of the week and months of the year in Spanish or write out the words for numbers in Spanish. Standard & Benchmark: Procedure: 28.D.1a Students in Zitkus’, Schaefer’s, Stokoski’s, and Pelkowski’s class will write out the words for the numbers in Spanish. Methodology: Direct Instruction, Individual Practice, Guided Practice, Modeling, Hands-on Assignment: Completion of notes/Participation in pronunciation Assessment: Completion of notes/Participation in pronunciation Day 3: Objective: Standard & Benchmark: Procedure: Students will learn the names of the Spanish speaking countries and their capitals. 29.E.2 Students in Zitkus’, Schaefer’s Stokoski’s, and Pelkowski’s class will write the names of the capitals to each Spanish speaking country on the maps provided. After writing the capitals, students will color each country a different color using either colored pencils or crayons, NO MARKERS! They will be given the class period to complete, if it is not done at the end of class, they will need to complete before our next class meeting. Benchmark: Procedure: 28.B.1a, 28.B.1b, 28.D.2b Students in Krueger’s will complete the family tree assignment. On this project, students will choose a family of their choice and label each family member. They need to include mom, dad, brothers/sisters, aunt, uncle, and cousins. If students choose, they may include family pets. Students in Johnson’s, Nance’s, and Driscoll’s class will be introduced to Spanish names for rooms of a house and furniture/appliances. Students will take notes, listen to vocabulary, and repeat the vocabulary in Spanish. On this project, their drawing will include furniture and appliance vocabulary. They will also have to color their project with colored pencils or crayons.
