I．Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications(BUPT)
BUPT is a university directly under the Ministry of Education which is established with joint efforts by the Ministry of Industry and information Technology.
BUPT is one of the first key universities of "project 211", and one of the key universities of "Project 985 Innovation Platform for Outstanding Disciplines". It is a
university featuring information technology with engineering subjects playing the dominant role, while engineering, management, arts and science are coordinately
developed. BUPT is an important training base for China's information technology professionals.The Information and Telecommunication Engineering subject in
BUPT ranks in the 1st place in China in terms of the comprehensive academic strength.
There are currently thirteen academic units in BUPT: School of Information and Communication Engineering, School of Electronic Engineering, School of
Computer Science, School of Automation, School of Software Engineering, School of Economics and Management, School of Humanities, School of Science,
International School, School of Continuing Education and so on.(In key discipline development, there are national key disciplines: 2 first level subject (electronic
science and technology, and information and communication engineering), 7 Beijing key disciplines and 8 ministry level key disciplines . Since 2007 the school has
lunched characteristic specially construction work and received approval of 9 national characteristic professional. Besides, there are 4 national key laboratory
(including 2 national engineering laboratories ), the ministry of education (2 "111 innovation engineering base").9 key laboratories at all kinds of ministry levels .And
BUPT has 9 academicians, more than 650 professors and deputy professors. Our university has maintained 100% graduate student employment rate for many years in
a row, with undergraduates maintaining a rate of over 99%.
The school offers 36 undergraduate majors, 42 master's programs, five types of professional degrees, 15 doctoral professional education curriculum, and
established five disciplines postdoctoral research station. Including international students and all degrees, BUPT has a total of roughly 22,000 full-time
students .Officially registered part-time students total roughly 30,000.
BUPT is attaching great importance to the international cooperation and exchanges, and it has established the academic partnerships with 40 plus countries such
as, America, UK, Germany, Sweden, France as well as 70 plus universities in Hong Kong, Macau and Tai Wan. Also, BUPT has tied with many world-renowned
corporations in the field of telecommunications, which has fostered a better atmosphere for the students’ modern and international vision.
II. Length of Study
Undergraduates at Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications study for four years, graduate students study for two to four years, and visiting students
and research scholars generally stay for half a year or one year.
One academic year includes a spring semester and autumn semester. The autumn semester begins the new academic year, generally from September until January
of the following year. The spring semester is usually from February to July. There are two long holidays every academic year, summer holiday and winter holiday.
The summer holiday is usually during July and August and lasts about 5 weeks, and the school will arrange summer holiday courses. The winter holiday lasts for 4
weeks and is during January and February. It usually covers the Chinese Lunar Spring Festival.

V. Entrance Requirements
1. The teaching language for undergraduates is Chinese except for the English-taught program. The applicants must obtain Minimum level of HSK 4 for enrolling in
the Chinese-taught programs.
2. The teaching language for master students is Chinese except for the English-taught program. The Chinese language proficiency of applicants must HSK level 4 or
above. Each applicant must provide at least two recommendation letters with references’ professional title above associate professor.
3. The teaching languages for doctoral students are Chinese and English. The communication ability of applicant must be equal to or exceed HSK Level 4 if
enrolling in the Chinese program. And the applicant must be provided with at least two recommendations of experts whose professional title is above professor.
Additional explanation: Applicants who do not meet the above requirement for the HSK may be considered on an individual basis. They may first be admitted as
non-degree seeking students for one academic year to study Chinese. Those who pass the examination held one year later will be automatically accepted as regular
students.
VI. Application Materials
The following documents are needed for all applicants:
1. The completed BUPT Admission Application Form for Overseas Students;
2. Applicants’ certificate of the highest completed academic level, diploma of the highest completed academic institution and high school/college transcripts
(photocopies or notary English translations);
3. Two recommendation letters from two different study courses/field;
4. The completed health Examination Record for Foreigners;
5. Proof of minimum HSK level 4 or BUPT Chinese Training Center diploma for those entering programs taught in Chinese.

VII. Application Procedure
1. Get ready all the required documents and complete the application process on BUPT website (http://studyinchina.bupt.edu.cn/) OR send electronic and/or
scanned versions of all documents to admissions@bupt.edu.cn ,tiantian@bupt.edu.cn, (The original documents must be presented on the applicants’ arrival) OR mail
all the documents to us (Mailing address: Postbox 211, International Office, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, 10# Xitucheng Road, Haidian
District, Beijing, P.R.China, Postcode:100876).
2.All application materials will be evaluated by the university. Once the application for admission is endorsed, BUPT will grant the BUPT Admission Notice and
the Application Form for Students from Overseas (JW 202 Form for short) and mail the two documents to the successful applicant;
3.The applicant goes in person to Chinese Embassy in his own country to apply for a (X) visa to study in China with the following materials: JW 202 Form,
BUPT Admission Notice, Physical Examination Record for Foreigners;
4. After going through the above application procedures, the applicant shall enroll in BUPT within the time notified in the BUPT Admission Notice.
Note: The application period is from February 15 to April 10th at each year.
VIII. Brief introduction of the International Chinese Training Center
The International Chinese Training Center of BUPT was established in 1986. It is an important view window of BUPT to communicate with the outside world as
well as the only Chinese-teaching organization of our university, belonging to the School of Humanities in BUPT.
Over the past 27years, the International Chinese Training Center has trained students from more than 40 countries all over five continents, such as, US, Canada,
Cuba, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Mongolia, Pakistan, India, Iran, UK, French, Germany, Austria, Holland, Swiss, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Russia,
Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, Congo, Congo (Kinshasa) and so on. It has also trained large amounts of qualified and excellent language learners before their enrollments
to undergraduate and graduate studies in BUPT as well as other universities in Beijing. At the same time, the International Chinese Training Center of BUPT has
trained many brilliant employees for companies both at home and abroad, working in various areas such as China Telecommunications, trade, cultural
communications and education.
Rich teaching experience has been gained through many years of teaching practice. We have a professional teaching team with high educational backgrounds.
We attaches great importance to the quality of our teachers and at the same time, we establish long-term relationships with many prestigious universities. Now, we
lunch the study-abroad service in our center.
At present, International Chinese Training Center has played a role as the base of Confucius Institutes(which jointly established by BUPT), been obligated to not
only providing teaching technical support and cultivating versatile students, but also storing and delivering personnel qualified for teaching Chinese as a foreign
language.
