Please check off the boxes as you finish each task so that you are sure to complete each part of the assignment. Score Scale: 0 = incomplete / not shown 1-6 = poor quality 7-9= needs improvement 10-12 = average 13-14 = good 15 = exemplary Criterion Student Checklist Score (0-15) Newspaper contains three articles which relate to the novel you have read. The articles not only relate to the content of the novel, but are also thorough and well written. The newspaper contains a classifieds section, an obituaries/births/weddings section, and a photo (taken by or drawn by you) to go with one of your articles. The sections should be well written and appropriately represent characters and events in the novel you have read. Length is appropriate (1 ½-2 typed pages long with one inch margins). Leaving white space means that you did not write enough and therefore did not meet the length requirement. Your newspaper should not have any whitespace. Format is appropriate (formatted similarly to a newspaper – such as The Independent). The articles should be formatted as newspaper articles are formatted. The obituaries/births/weddings sections look similar to these sections in a real newspaper. Use the newspaper template I shared with you on Google. Newspaper has been proofread and there are no grammatical / spelling errors – especially Basic Writing Rules for English II! Total: ________ / 75
