Course Summary:
In Spanish III, we will:
-practice all five language skills in Spanish: Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing and Culture
-use Spanish in more in-depth conversations of real life situations, particularly those involving the themes
of school, daily routine, clothing, leisure-time activities, childhood and special occasions.
-develop grammar concepts of Spanish
-be aware of values and culture of Spanish speaking people
-recognize the diversity in language and culture between different Spanish speaking nations
Course Outcomes:
By the end of the course, students will know how to have, understand and read conversations in
the past, imperfect, future, conditional and present perfect tenses, use the reflexive verb, make
commands and requests, as well as describe some specific differences between their own
culture and that of Spanish speaking people.
By the end of the course, students will be able to correctly choose between the preterite and
imperfect tense, give commands, speak in a variety of tenses and gain confidence in their
speaking and writing skills.

family. Describe special family occasions,
holiday and other celebrations. Greet people in
several different ways. Speak in the present
perfect tense.
Advanced Learner Recommendations
Advanced learnings may be challenged by engaging in more one-on-one conversations in the target
language, by reading authentic materials such as newspapers, magazines, twitter feeds, etc. and by listening
to Spanish on the radio, TV shows or movies.
