Grading:
The grading for this course will be based on the two nine week percentages and
the end of course exam. In order to weigh each of these three things
appropriately, each of the two marking periods will be worth 40% and the end of
course exam will be worth 20% of the entire course’s total. Adding each of these
three scores together will give your total percentage for the entire course.
Each of the marking period totals will be broken into four parts. Each of these
parts will have their own percentage contributing to the total. This breakdown is
represented in the table below.

Learning Opportunity Information:
Homework: Homework will be given on a daily basis and normally due the next
day. Practice is crucial in Mathematics!!
Quizzes: Quizzes will be given to break up the content of each chapter. Quizzes
are used as a tool for students to focus on what needs improving.
Tests: Tests will be given over the content of each unit.
Missed Opportunity:
Homework: If you miss a day that homework is given, you will have your first
day back to get the assignment and it will need to be turned in completed
within 5 school days. If homework was due the day that you missed, it
will be due the first day that you are back to class. Late homework for any
other reason, unless previous plans have been made with Mr. Wishon, will
not be accepted.
Quizzes: If you miss a quiz day, you will be expected to take the quiz the next
day that you attend class. You will have at most three days to take a quiz
that you missed. If you choose not to take it in this time you will receive a
zero.
Tests: If you miss a test day, you will be expected to take the test the next day
that you attend class. Since test dates will be announced well before the
actual date, missing the day prior to the test will not excuse you from
taking the test on the day that it is scheduled. If you miss a test you will
have at most three days to take it before it becomes a zero.
Cheating:
Cheating on any learning opportunity will result in the score of a zero for all
parties involved. This will not be taken lightly! I want to see what you are
capable of, and how we can become better.
Extra Assistance:
As your teacher, I will be glad to assist you outside of class if you need help. I
am here to help you to be successful. I will be available before or after school for
