Recruitment Procedures for Chinese Government Scholarship
2014 (CSC scholarship) in Beijing Language and Culture University
(BLCU)
Based on the “Recruitment Procedures for Chinese Government Scholarship
(2014)”of the International Cooperation and Exchange Department of the Educational
Ministry of China, the Recruitment Procedures for CSC Scholarship (2014) of MA
and PhD degree programs in BLCU are as follows.
I.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Non-Chinese citizens；
2. Currently not studying or working in China;
3. Available MA or PhD degree programs in BLCU should be instructed in Chinese
or other languages other than the native language of the applicant;
4. Applicants of MA degree programs should be aged below 40, and provide
bachelor degree or its equivalent and HSK certificate level 5 of no less than 180
scores (International Economics and Trade instructed in English can be excused
from HSK);
5. Applicants of PhD degree program should be aged below 45, and provide master
degree, and HSK certificate level 6 of no less than 180 scores;
6. Application will be rejected if the applicants submit it to more than one university,
or apply for other scholarships at the same time in China.
II. Application procedure
1. Applicants can log on to the CSC website at http://laihua.csc.edu.cn, set up an
individual account, complete and submit the CSC Scholarship Application Form
online (the agency number of BLCU is 10032).
2. Application form should be printed out and signed after submitted online. All
application documents should be submitted to the Admission Office for Foreign
Students of BLCU before April 15, 2014.
3. Applicants can visit the website http://laihua.csc.edu.cn for up-to-date information
of the application.
III. Application documents (in duplicate)
1. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (complete online and print
out);
2. Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) Postgraduate Application Form
for Overseas Students (download from http://www.blcu.edu.cn/yjsedu/index.html)
3. A notarized photocopy of the latest diploma or certificate (translated version in
English or Chinese is needed if the original document is in other languages;
graduating students should provide pre-graduation certificate);
4. original copy of latest academic transcript；
5. a photocopy of HSK certificate
6. a photocopy of the applicant’s valid passport；
7. a photocopy of the applicant’s emergency contact person’s ID document；
8. two recommendation letters from professors or associate professors in the field of
study related to the applied program；
9. study plan (including personal information, learning experience, Chinese language
proficiency, capability of research, study plan, and study aim, etc., no less than 800
Characters in Chinese for MA degree applicants, no less than 1500 Characters in
Chinese for PhD degree applicants )；
10. A photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form and Blood Test Results.
The original copy should be taken along with the applicants when coming to China.
IV. Deadline for application
All application documents should be submitted to the Admission Office for Foreign
Students of BLCU before April 15, 2014.
