Materials: College algebra Enhanced with Graphing Utilities, 5e, Sullivan/Sullivan 2009 A graphing calculator is required for this course. TI - 83 or later. Content: We will be going through the book quickly to be able to get through as much as possible. Assignments: Homework will be completed online at http://academic.slu.edu/webwork2/ Quizzes: Weekly quizzes will be given every Friday at the beginning of class and the problems will come from the homework (I reserve the right to change numbers/wording as I see fit). There will be no quizzes the week of exams. Tests: We will have 3 exams besides the final. Final exam: The final exam is scheduled for Friday, December 12 during 12:00-1:50. Attendance: You are expected to attend all classes. Consistent attendance is required to grasp the material. I will take attendance regularly, and it can affect borderline grades. Do not make it a habit to come late or leave in the middle of class as you will be counted as absent. Make up policy: Homework will not be accepted late. Quizzes cannot be made up. If you miss a quiz, that will count as your dropped grade. Exams cannot be made up. The final exam grade will replace the lowest exam grade, if it is lower. If you know ahead of time that you will miss an exam, it is your responsibility to schedule a make up exam to be taken before the missed absence. I will require written documentation for all make-ups.
