Don’t Start the Revolution Without Me You and your partner(s) will represent one of the revolutions of the early modern period. You will attempt to prove that your revolution’s impact on history was greater than the revolutions that you will face in this debate tournament. You will promote the positive aspects of your revolution and exploit the negative aspects of your opponent’s. Debate Format: 1. Opening statement by each team: 2 minutes Hint: If I were you I would divide and conquer this for research and presentation. a. Each revolution will use their opening statement to promote their own positive attributes. Consider promoting the positive attributes of the following areas = (P.E.R.S.I.A.N.) Political, Economic, Religious, Society/Social, Innovation, Arts, Near = Geography b. Use of primary source documents and factual information will score you more points. 2. Cross Examination by each team: 1 minute each team in turn questions opponents about their opening presentation. 3. Rebuttal by each team: 2 minutes Respond to the arguments made against you 4. Conference before closing: 30 seconds 5.
