DAY CAMP REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN! HWP’s Christian Day Camp takes
place Monday-Thursday, June 23-26, 4:00-8:30 pm at YMLC. Shetek Lutheran
Ministries will again share their gifts of music, arts & crafts, games, Bible study and
skits. Registration costs are paid from Parish Youth Ministry Fund but contributions
are welcome! Registration forms are available in the church bulletins, or in your
church entry. Please register by June 1, so Shetek knows how many staff to send!
Everyone is welcome to attend the closing program on Thursday, June 26, 7:00 pm
in YMLC’s sanctuary, followed by an ice cream social downstairs.
DAY CAMP VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! Parish members are needed to make Day
Camp possible. Please contact Angie Thostenson at 507-766-0909 or
office@healingwatersparish.org if you can help with:
 Adults & youth to help Shetek staff in small groups
 Kitchen staff to prepare kid-friendly meals
 Dessert contributions for S-M-T-W suppers
 Host for Shetek staff
The ELCA Youth Gathering for high school-age youth takes place every three
years and is about faith formation, worship, study, fellowship, service and play.It is
an opportunity for youth to engage in worship and fellowship with peers from across
the United States and the world who share a common commitment and faith in
Christ. The next Youth Gathering will be held July 15-19, 2015, in Detroit, Mich.
There will be an informational meeting for interested students (this year
grades 7-12) and their parents on Wednesday, May 7, 6:30 pm at Granite Falls
Lutheran Church in Granite Falls. The 2015 trip will be in conjunction with Clarkfield
and Granite Falls Lutheran churches. This meeting will cover some basic information
about the trip, get a count of interested youth and try to answer any questions you
have at this time. Please contact Carrie Jeseritz if you cannot attend this meeting
and your child would like to go on the trip. 507-829-2528.

NEW COOKBOOKS AVAILABLE: Is your church cookbook worn out, splattered
with various ingredients, missing a cover or pages? You are in luck, for the newly
reprinted Favorite Recipes of Yellow Medicine Lutheran cookbook is now available.
This is a joint fundraiser between the Yellow Medicine Lutheran and their WELCA.

Memory Loss Support Group offers understanding of memory loss, coping skills,
educating caregivers, and information on additional resources. It is open to everyone
at no cost Wednesdays from 9:30-11:00 am at the Courtyard Café at Avera Marshall,
300 S. Bruce St. Refreshments are available, come when you can.
Marshall Area Dementia Awareness Network is putting on a community
dementia event at Boulder Estates on Wednesday, April 23 at 2:00 p.m. The
Alzheimer’s Association has hired a new local representative and we would like to
introduce her to the community. Her name is Jenna Herbig and she will also be doing
a presentation on the Basics of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. After the
presentation, they will be offering tours of the new Boulder Creek Assisted Living
Memory Care.
Beginning Experience of Southwest Minnesota, a peer ministry support group
for widowed, separated and divorced people is offering a Weekend Retreat - "A Path
to Healing" - A weekend providing an individual with the opportunity to encounter
self and to grow with a purpose to achieve inner peace. The experience is to help
close the door gently on the past and move on with renewed hope and purpose. The
weekend retreat will be held at Shetek Lutheran Ministries and is scheduled for April

Beginning Experience of Southwest Minnesota, a peer ministry support group
for widowed, separated and divorced people is offering its Level I Series for eight
weeks beginning April 28, 2014. The Monday night sessions begin at 7:00 P.M. at the
First Lutheran Church on Church and “A” Street in Marshall, MN. Registration is held
the first two Monday nights starting at 6:30 P.M. Registration is then closed for that
session. The support group is open to people of all denominations. There is a $60 fee
to cover the cost of materials. This series is designed for those wishing to work
through the grieving process following the loss of a loved one through death, divorce
or separation. All dialogue is confidential and facilitators are trained\individuals who
have suffered a similar loss. If you wish to pre-register or have other questions
