This month’s Dress Down Days are on Thursday, November 5th & Tuesday, November 17th. (The first date is different from what the yearly calendar lists.) Students who bring in 2 non-perishable food items for Thanksgiving Baskets may dress down. See “In the Community” below for a list of foods. Monday, November 2nd the Book Loan letters which were sent home with each student in Kinder – 8th grade are due. November 11 No School Veterans Day November 16 Report Card Day November 19 Half –Day for PK – 8th grade Parent-Teacher Conferences There is No Aftercare November 23 Monday, November 16th is Report Card Day. All students whose balance is up-to-date will receive their report card. Thanksgiving Craft Wednesday, November 18th is the Pin Ceremony for the Eighth Grade Class. It will take place directly after Chapel, which begins at 9 am. Parents are welcome to attend. No School - Thanksgiving Parent Teacher Conferences for PK - 8th grade are on Thursday, November 19th. All grades are dismissed at 11:30. There will be school bus service. There will not be aftercare. Parents of Pre-K - 4th grade students must make appointments to meet with the teachers (a form will go home). The parents of 5th – 8th grade students can meet with teachers from 12:30 – 3pm or 6 – 8 pm. If you have any questions regarding these conferences, please contact your child’s teacher. November 26 – 27 *Important Announcement* December Lunch Orders are Due by Tuesday, November 17th. There is No Aftercare on Thursday, November 19th. The Smart Tuition helpline # is 1-888-868-8828. Page 1 of 2 Fundraisers The packets for Yankee Candle and for World’s Finest Chocolate are due by Thursday, November 5th. All funds raised from Box Tops and Campbell’s Labels go toward new gym equipment. Dress Down collections will be used for the Wizard of Art. Please visit Schoola.com. It is a fast, easy way to clean out your closets while raising money for our school. Stop & Shop Fundraiser A+ School Rewards program - St. John’s Lutheran School ID #16706, will run from October 9th, 2015 – March 17th, 2016. Please register your rewards card online at www.stopandshop.com/aplus to participate. If you registered last year, you don’t have to register again. But you can sign-in and verify that your card is there with the correct school attached to it. It’s an easy way to raise money for our school – just shop! Volunteer Needed: Many school families are aware that we have a uniform exchange program, where parents can buy lightly-used school uniforms for discounted prices. We need a volunteer to run this program. Please contact the school office if you are interested or would like more information. In the Community Are you or someone you know, or are related to, an alumnus of St. John’s Lutheran School? We would like to start an official Alumni Association for St. John’s Lutheran. The first event will be a get together this Spring. Soon there will be an information link on our website that you can visit for events and posts.
