The last date for entry into programmes leading to this replaced qualification is 31 December 2016. The last date for assessments to take place for this replaced qualification is 31 December 2018, when it will be designated as discontinued. Candidates currently working towards this qualification may either complete the requirements by 31 December 2018 or transfer their results to one of the replacement qualifications. It recognises a base level of capability for employees and affords access to a range of elective unit standards to supplement the compulsory component. Unit standards and achievement standards that are equivalent in outcome are mutually exclusive for the purpose of award. Reviewed standards that continue to recognise the same overall outcome are registered as new versions and retain their identification number (ID). Changes to structure and content Expired standard 3062 has been removed from the compulsory section and its replacement standard 21467 has been added. The qualification total has been increased to 43 credits as a result of the addition of standard 21467 and to ensure the elective section remains meaningful. Addition of reverse transition to allow completion of versions 1 and 2. For detailed information see Review Summaries on the NZQA website. People currently working towards version 1 or 2 of this qualification may either complete that version or transfer their results to version 3. This qualification contains a standard that replaced an earlier standard. For the purposes of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the expired standard are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the replacement standard – see table below. Credit for Exempt from 3062 21467 Reverse transition Reverse transition has been included for versions 1 and 2 of this qualification to allow candidates to complete the qualification using the expired standard or replacement standard. Versions 1 and 2 of the qualification contain a standard that has been replaced by a later standard. For the purposes of this qualification, people who have gained credit for the replacement standard are exempt from the requirement to gain credit for the expired standard – see table below. Credit for Exempt from 21467 3062 It is anticipated that no existing candidates will be disadvantaged by these transition arrangements. However, anyone who feels that they have been disadvantaged may appeal to the Primary Industry Training Organisation at the address below. Appeals will be considered on a case by case basis.
