This qualification is designed to cover the skills and knowledge required by dairy industry personnel who work in the procurement of raw milk for manufacturing, and the business skills associated with maintaining key client relationships and contractual arrangements.
The compulsory section covers health and safety, generic dairy manufacturing industry skills shared with other industry staff, and specific skills pertaining to customer service, sales and self-management.
The elective section is designed to enable candidates to achieve a selection of skills associated with supplier contract and relationship management.
The optional strand is designed to cover the skills and knowledge required by candidates wishing to extend their knowledge of related areas in agribusiness without having to undertake complete qualifications designed for farmers.
This is a standalone qualification for those in the field service sector of the dairy industry.
Candidates wishing to specialise in Agribusiness Management should complete the
National Certificate in Agribusiness Management (Agribusiness Resource Management)
[Ref: 1187], or the National Certificate in Agribusiness Management (Business Planning and Financial Management) [Ref: 1186], or the National Diploma in Agribusiness
Management [Ref: 0647].

Version 2 was issued following a revision in order to update content to make the qualification current.
Changes to structure and content
Expired compulsory standard 16305 has been removed from the qualification and recommended alternative standard 25046 has been added.
Standard 16615 has been removed from the qualification as it is expiring.
Standard 9736 has been removed from the qualification as it has expired.
Standards 27564, 27566, and 27568 have been added to the Elective section to

Minimum number of credits required at Level 5 for the optional strand has been increased from 20 to 25 in order to keep the level of the qualification with the optional strand at Level 5.

People currently working towards version 1 of this qualification who have credit for expired standard 16305 may either complete that version or transfer their results to version 2.
People currently working towards version 1 of this qualification who do not have credit for expired standard 16305 must transfer their results to version 2. The last date for assessments to take place for version 1 is December 2014.
For those who have partially completed version 1 and wish to transfer to version 2, the following exemptions apply.

Assurance Body before they can register credits from assessment against standards. Organisation with consent to assess and Industry Training Organisations assessing against standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
