1. Site of Wind Turbine (Before)
2. Tuesday 19th October 2005
The first sod was cut for the installation of our Jacobs 20KW Wind Turbine! A short
access road was made to the site of the turbine to serve the installation of the turbine
base.
3. Wednesday 19th October 2005
Progress of the base is in its advanced stages.
The picture above shows the road into the turbine site.
The tripod is fixed into place.

4. Thursday 20th October 2005
The concrete arrives to fixate the tripod into position for the Wind Turbine Tower.

7. Monday 7th November 2005
The wind turbine has arrived! The picture below shows the propeller head, gear box
and generator of the turbine.
The wind turbine arrived flat packed so the picture above shows it being constructed
piece by piece, bolt by bolt!
Tuesday 15th November 2005
Late on Tuesday afternoon our wind turbine was erected into place!
Wednesday 16th November 2005
The new turbine is complete!
Monday 13th February
The turbine is connected up! The picture below shows the turbine rotating for the first
time!
The “Windy boy” invertors are installed. The windy boy inverters are developed by
Proven and the inverter manufactured by SMA allows grid connection. The turbine
generates direct current (DC) electricity. Off grid systems requires battery storage and
an inverter to convert the DC current to AC (Alternating Current- mains electricity) at
a quality that is acceptable to the grid.
