1- Write a one-page single-spaced description of transposons (their characteristics, types,
composition, etc.). Concentrate on Tn transposons as much as possible. This is an individual,
independent work. Consult texts, articles, manuals and the Internet.
Note: Internet search for Tn will yield a large number of specific research articles that may not be useful for the
purposes of this paper. It may be more apt to go to the library and look up the information in as many genetics
textbooks as you can.
2. Suppose you want to mutagenize gene A that you have amplified by PCR. If gene A is 3850
bp long and the concentration of the PCR product is 250 ng/µl, calculate the amounts of
material needed:
