He was married on 15 February 1772 at Mr. B. Hughes's residence by the Anglican Minister to Dorothea [Dorothy] Hughes.2 In 1772, John Edney was living at 35 East End A Quarter on the property of Rowland Franklin.3 By 1775, he and his wife were living at 25 King's Cross Street, Christiansted. By 1779, they had settled into 12 King's Cross Street, Christiansted, where they lived apparently without children until 1786. In that year, his brother's daughter, Anna Edney, came to reside with them.4 [Is it she, as Ann Elizabeth Edney, who marries John P. Brown at Capt. Tatem's on 12 October 1799? Mary Richardson Edney, married on 23 December 1799, in the St. Croix Danish Lutheran Church,9 to George Meyer.10 In 1818, she is listed on 1 June, as returning to St. Croix from Copenhagen.11 He may have died in 1821.12 3. Richard Edney, in 1775, he lived at 25 Strand Street, Christiansted, with a daughter.13 He was married on 22 August 1776 at Mr. Hinton's residence by the Anglican Minister to Elizabeth Merrit.14 In 1778, his house at 10 Strand Street, Christiansted was empty.15 It is assumed that it was his daughter, Anna Edney, who was placed to reside with his brother, John Edney and his wife, at 25 King's Cross Street, Christiansted in 1786.16 ------------------George Edney, who was born on St. Croix in about 1853, and in 1918, he was living at 64 Prince Street, Frederiksted with is wife, Wilma [?], who was born on St. Croix in about 1860. His source of financial was that he was living "on income."17 -----------------James Edney had a relationship with at this time an unknown woman. Child of James Edney: 1. i. George Augustus Edney, b. c1848, d. 23 October 1928 1. James Cornelius Edney, b. on 14 July 1875, he was baptized by the Moravian Minister in Church on 22 August 1875.33 He died on 5 July 1876, at Høgensborg.34 4. John William Edney, born 10 July 1779, he was baptized by the Moravian Minister in the Church on 3 August 1879.35 He died on 5 March1880, at estate Carlton Garden.36 5. Ann Eliza Edney was born on 3 July 1880, and died on 23 July 1880.37 6. Petrina Edney was born on 2 August 1881, and baptized Lutheran on 11 September 1881 in Frederiksted.38 In 1904, she was a member of the Lutheran Church, and living in Frederiksted, and a relationship with Hugh Valdemar Petersen, born in about 1879, and in 1904, a member of the Lutheran Church, a resident in Frederiksted and a cigar maker.39 7. Martina Edney, born on St. Croix, in about 1896, and in 1918, she was living with her mother at 8 East Street, Frederiksted, and she was working as a house servant for a private family.43 2. Charles Edney, born on St. Croix, in about 1900, and in 1918, he was living with his mother at 8 East Street, Frederiksted, and he was working as a laborer doing street work.44 3. Ludvig Edney, born on St. Croix, in about 1902, and in 1918, he was living with his mother at 8 East Street, Frederiksted, and he was a teacher at the "Com:" school.45 -------------------William Edney, a free man in 1804, had a relationship with Elizabeth Rogers, also a free woman in 1804.46 Child of William Edney and Elizabeth Rogers: 1. i. Joseph Edney, baptized in the Frederiksted Lutheran Mission Church on 31 March 1804, classified as a Sambo.47 Elisabeth Edney was married to Solomon Romney, who died in about 1779.48 ---------------Elizabeth Edney, listed a member of the Lutheran Church, as of December 1846, she was free, and was born in about 1788. In May 1850, she was resident at 17 Company Street, Christiansted, unmarried and a fruit seller.62 ----------------Susanna Edney, born on St. Martin, in about 1810, baptized in the Anglican Church, classified as Mulatto, was granted her freedom, and in 1832 was resident in Christiansted.63 -------------------Susanna Edney was born on St. Croix in about 1842 and was baptized in the Roman Catholic Church.64 In 1857, she was living at 41 Queen's Street, Frederiksted, where she was a servant in the household of Eliza Gordon.65 -------------------William Edney was buried on 18 January 1767, aged 19, in the Anglican Church Yard. 66 -----------------------Zipporah Edney was born about 1829/1833, and in 1841, a member of the Moravian Church, and in 1854, a member of the Anglican Church.67 On 28 July 1854, she married William Miller, who was born about 1828, and in 1854, was a cooper in Frederiksted.68 She died on 13 November 1909 at Mt.
