A Summary of Honda D’s Bloodlines There are very few horses in this country with bloodlines like Honda’s! Honda’s 2 grandsires are #1 and #3 in the LIMPRE, the Book of Merit that the ANCEE (Association of Spanish Breeders) have put together. One brother, Imperioso D, is now the successor to Granadino as reigning stallion at the Denham Ranch. Honda was the first foal of the crossing of Granadino XI and Quiromancia. Her sire is Granadino XI, the foundation stallion for the Denham Ranch. After Granadino was exported from Spain some of his babies went on to win Spanish Nat. Championships and the breeder said he would have never sold him if he knew what his babies would grow up to be. Two daughters were in the Cobra of Mares that won 1st place one year and two sons teamed up to win the Dressage Driving Championship. These are the ones I know of. That makes Honda 1/2 brother to several Spanish champions. Granadino's sire was the absolutely legendary Leviton, the #3 ranked horse in LIMPRE. Leviton was the sire of the highest ranking horse on the Spanish Olympic Dressage team, Evento. He produced many Spanish Champions, as well. Leviton is famous mostly for his movement and the way he passed that movement on to his offspring. Leviton was singled out to be honored at SICAB several years ago. Honda’s dam, Quiromancia, though is the one who really carries the golden genes. She is one of only a handful of horses in this country that are from the Cardenas Stud in Spain. Cardenas has won more "Best Breeder" awards in Spain than any other. He rarely sells his mares! Quiremancia is a daughter of Vasallo II, the Number One ranked horse in LIMPRE. He is the IALHA poster horse, he was Reserve Champion of Spain and has produced more Spanish champions than any horse ever! That makes Quiromancia at least a half sister of many Champions of Spain, including the famous Joya, also a topped ranked mare in LIMPRE and Reserve Champion Mare of Spain. Also in Honda’s pedigree are 3 crosses to Bilbaino III, the foundation stallion of the Cardenas stud and a top Terry stallion; Maluso, the most honored of all Spanish horses (he is THE founder of the bay lines); Juglar, the 2nd primary founder of bay lines, and his famous bay son, Agente. The bloodlines of Vasallo II and Leviton that Honda carries are hard to find in the US, especially Vasallo II.
