SWAG International Main Principles
Short Description: A coalition of International Baccalaureate students working to promote
environmental awareness. :)
Mission: To bring youth together in synergy and work for a better tomorrow.
Vision: To be the leading international environmental organization run by youth for youth.
Organization Overview: SWAG stands for Students Working in Alliance for Green. We are a coalition
of International Baccalaureate students working to promote environmental awareness, in a mission to
bring youth together in synergy and work for a better tomorrow. As an environmental awareness group,
we hope to advocate on behalf of the environment and create events that aim to engage youth with their
planet. Through merchandise and social media, we hope to promote sustainability to get youth just as
passionate as we are about saving the earth! :)
4 Pillars of SWAG International
Produce (Art/merch.) (videos, poems, illustrations/environmental cartoons, etc)
Raise Awareness (inform through articles, get people to pay attention
to their enviornment, how to help the enviornment, etc.)
Action (community clean ups, writing letters to organizations, raise funds, physical projects around the
school, etc.)
Global Support (sharing knowledge and experiences and strengthening our international community)
Annual Agenda: Events 2012/2013
1. Recycling/Composting/School Gardens
2. Fundraising for Solar Panels/Rainwater Collectors
3. Green Week 2013
Recycling/Composting/School Gardens
Through the distribution and placement of recycling and compost boxes, we hope to decrease the
contribution of our schools to garbage in landfills. With the school gardens, we are supporting local
farmers and promoting eating locally as a green initiative.
Fundraising for Solar Panels/Rainwater Collectors
With the financial assistance of school fundraisers, we want to significantly decrease the dependance of
our school on fossil fuels by providing clean energy alternatives. Retrofitting the schools with energy
efficient lightbulbs and other improvements will allow us to have the lowest carbon footprints for our
schools as possible.
