Description ‘being at this Time Weak in Body but of a Sound and perfect Miend and Memory
Blessed be God for the same But Calling to miend the Uncertainty of this Mortal
Life and not knowing how Soon it may pleais Almighty God to take me out of this
present World…’
Bequests:
- ’First I bequeath my Soul to God hopeing for forgiveness of all my Sins Through
the Merrits and Meditation of Jesus Christ my Ever Blessed Saviour and
Redeemer and my Body to Decent Christian Burial as my Executor herein after
named shall think fit’
- to son John Cock, ‘the Dwelling house and Garden and Two fields or Meddows
that he now Enjoy’ and to pay yearly out of this 7s 6d ‘towards or in parte of the
Outgoeings to my Executor’
Also, ‘Two fields and a Moore under the same Lying the North side of Tregoss now
in his possession in paying one half of all the Outgoeings that belong to the whole
Tenement that belong to Mr Thomas Vivyn [Vivyan?]’
Also ‘one Twilveth [twelfth] parte Doal or share in a Sartin [certain] Tin Streemwork Called or Known by the Name of Besilick’ [parish not known] and ‘all my
Right I have in that Tin Streem work Called by the Name of the Gilley work with all
my Right I have in the Tin Bounds Lying all above the Loadey work in the parishes
of Roach and St Stephens [in Brannell]’
Also ‘all my Wareing appreal[apparel]’ and £1 1s to be paid one month after
testator’s death
- to daughter ‘Phillipa Cock now Robons’ £21 to be paid one year after testator’s
death and to her sons Philliph [sic] and William Robons £1 1 shilling each on
reaching 21 years
- to daughter ‘Betesey Cock now Dyer that dwelling house and Garden where She
now Dwell in with a Roade to go to the Garden and that parte of the Tound Place
[townplace]that she now Enjoy and Likewise one half Eacor [acre] of Ground to be
Taken out of the Estern Side of the Lower Stoan-close’
Also £5 to be paid one year after testator’s death, and to each of her 3 children 10
shillings on reaching the age of 21; to her son Stephen Dyer’ one Sixteen parte of
a Tin Streem-work called by the name of Chance-work Lying in the Gossmoore’;
daughter Betesey Dyer to pay 2 shillings to the Executor out of ‘the above house

- to granddaughter ‘Phillipa Cock now Varcoe’ £5 to be paid one year after
testator’s death
- to Betesey Cock ‘Daughter to my Son John Cock’ £1 1s to be paid one year after
testator’s death
- to Stephen Cock ‘Son of my Son John Cock that Dwelling house and Garden and
three fields or Meddows all Adjoining to Eaich Other now in the possession of Mrs
Mary Truscott in paying out of the Same one Third parte of all the Outgoeings that
Shall become Due out of All the Tenement belonging to Lord Falmouth So soon as
he arrive to the age of Twenty one years’
- to John, Thomas and William ‘Sons of my son John Cock that Dwelling house
and Ground that is now in the possession of John Robons in one year after my
Deceas in paying one third part of all Outgoeing’
- to Stephen Cock ‘son of my Son Stephen Cock one Twilveth parte of a Tin
Streem-work Called Marsh work in the parish of St Dennis and all my Right I have
in the Tin Bounds in or Nigh the Gossmoore, and my Little mare and my Bed
furneshed that I now sleep on all to be his So Soon as he arrive to the Age of
Fourteen Years’
- to John Cock ‘Son of my son Stephen one Twilveth parte of a Tin streem-work
called by the Name of Bersellick [parish not known]’ when he reaches the age of
21
- to Thomas Cock ‘son of my Son Stephen Cock’ £5 to be paid when he reaches
the age of 21
- to Johnathon Cock ‘Son of my Son John Cock’ £1 1s to be paid when he reaches
the age of 21
