Pedigree of John Imrie (1910)
The first of the Scotch (sic) Imries of which there is any record had been an officer in the French Army, where
he and some others got into such trouble that they fled their country and made their way to Fifeshire. This
ancestor was called "Colonel Imrie". One of his descendants (probably the only one) was John Imrie, father of
David Imrie, grandfather of James Imrie, great grandfather of William and John, and great great grandfather
of this writer.
John Imrie must have been born about the year 1700. He was a grazier and flesher in the Parish of
Fosseway, Fifeshire. His wife's name was Dempster. Other family were –
