Section 1505 – Planning Board 1501.1. The Planning Board and the Board of Selectmen may jointly appoint an Associate member to the Planning Board as provided in Chapter 40A, Section 9 of Massachusetts General Laws. The term of each such appointment shall be for no more than one (1) year, and shall terminate on the June 30th immediately following such appointment. The Chairman of the Planning Board may designate the Associate member to sit on the board for purposes of acting on a special permit application, in the case of the absence, inability to act or conflict of interest on the part of any member of the Planning Board, or in the event of a vacancy on the board. The Board of Selectmen and the Planning Board may together remove a duly-appointed alternate member for cause unless such removal is otherwise prohibited or restricted by law.
