University of Florida Autism Endorsement Program

advertisement
Within the past decade the number of children identified with autism spectrum disorders has
increased dramatically. Consequently, the need for teachers with expertise in this area has also
increased significantly. The State of Florida has recently mandated that teachers serving
students with autism hold an endorsement in that specific disability area. The endorsement
requires twelve semester hours of coursework along with field-based experience involving
students with autism.
The University of Florida offers the four courses needed for the Florida Department of
Education Autism endorsement.
