emergency pipeline.

Notes the financial difficulties anticipated by the Goulburn Mulwaree Shire Council.

election, for Community Option ‘C’ of the Pacific Highway upgrade at Sexton Hill in the Tweed.

Option B”, despite massive local opposition and a similar price tag.
(3)
Calls on the Government to accept Community Option ‘C’ and expedite construction of this option

Notes the struggle of small business operators such as bricklayers, concreters, electricians and
other building associated tradesmen throughout Western Sydney, directly affected by a depleted
housing market, with no certainty of continuing work and the negative effect it will have on
employment.

imposed on the North and Southwest development areas of Sydney, which are hindering the

Notes with concern that Government funding for this service is inadequate to meet the increased
costs of fuel and wages.
(3)
Notes its concern that many of the more than 20 mobile children’s services in NSW are in a
similar precarious financial situation because of inadequate funding by the Government.
(4)
Calls on the Government to urgently change the funding formula for mobile children’s services in
NSW to allow them to continue to provide these important services to isolated residents in rural
NSW.

agreement with State Rail about permanently fixing this problem.

Notes that until this bridge is repaired it will continue to be a traffic hazard for all vehicles and

Notes that the Government has failed to properly legislate to allow 44 local councils to fairly,
legally and simply rate rural entities following the recognised separation of water from land for
rating purposes in 2004.

Notes that the 2005 Department of Local Government Rating Option (No. 5) supporting sub
categorisation of individual farmland property according to intensity of land use, was not enacted
despite unanimous support.
(3)
Calls on the Government to:
(a)
as a matter of urgency, amend the Local Government Act expedite local government ability
to underwrite their rate income;
(b)
ensure all councils affected are supported by a full general valuation;
(c)
accept full responsibility for subsequent legal challenges resulting from legislating in this
area; and
(d)
fully compensate local government affected by loss of income as a result of any adjustment.

Acknowledges the vast coal mining developments in the Upper Hunter Valley.

Acknowledges that the State receives almost $400M p.a. from the coal industry in royalties
together with a significant amount of taxation via payroll tax, stamp duty and other taxes.

Acknowledges that the cumulative impacts of coal mining particularly regarding air quality, noise
and vibration is causing hardship to local residents.
(4)
Acknowledges the existence of thousands of conditions of consent applying to coal mines in the
Upper Hunter Valley.
