No.: E6 Location: Mochdre Directorate: Economy & Place Technical Group Responsible Environment Officer to: Car Allowance Responsible for: 0 (Staff) Casual User Job Purpose To actively participate as a member of a team that provides the Council with professional advice on Land Drainage and Coastal Protection matters and provides an effective project delivery function. Duties and Responsibilities - Job Specific 1. To advise and report on all aspects of engineering, land drainage, fluvial and coastal flooding. 2. Actively participate in project teams to assist in the preparation of feasibility reports, design of engineering works, preparation of contract documents and contract administration. 3. Ensure that the groups’ vehicles, plant and equipment are inspected, tested, calibrated, maintained and cleaned on a regular basis. 4. Undertake surveys and investigations. 5. Develop and maintain database systems. 6. Undertake land drainage and coastal inspections and provide emergency response (including maritime spillages). Working Conditions 1. The post is office based but may require attendance at other Council offices/ depots and construction sites. 2. The duties of the post will involve work outside normal working hours, including attendance at meetings. 3. The post-holder may be required to represent the Council at Hearings, Working Parties, Panels, Sub-committees, Committees, etc. 4. The duties of the post will involve travel both inside and outside the Council's area. 02/08/12 1 Other Information 1. The post attracts a Casual User Car Allowance and it is considered essential that the post holder must have the ability to travel throughout the county on a regular basis, often to remote locations at short notice. 2.
