Laboratory Technician position is available to support the research in the department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on host immune responses in pulmonary bacterial infection induced sepsis and animal models with strong potential for translational research. We utilize both in-vitro and in-vivo models to study these areas. Experience in performing mouse experiments is necessary. Duties include performing techniques such as immunofluorescence, FACS, ELISA, cell and bacterial culture, PCR, gel-electrophoresis, western blotting and standard microbiological techniques. Preferred qualifications include familiarity with basic computer and lab managerial skills such as ordering and lab equipment maintenance. Required qualification is associates degree in biology or related field and two years experience in a microbiology, immunology laboratory. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated and demonstrate the ability to work independently and effectively with the other members in the team.
