Cancer Prevention & Control Program Colloquium Series Celebrating 10 Years of Research HPV-Mediated Carcinogenesis, In Vivi and In Vitro Friday October 11 10 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. Dr. Lucia Pirisi-Creek Discovery 1 Building Room 140 915 Greene Street Professor Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology Faculty Profile Lucia Pirisi-Creek is Professor of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and Program Director of the SC IDeA Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (SC INBRE). Her research focuses on the basic mechanisms of HPV-mediated transformation and the origins of cervical and head and neck cancer. She has mentored numerous students in research, and junior faculty members in her department and across SC. She is author/co-author of 64 publications and leader/co-leader of two research projects in a NIMHD collaborative center grant at USC and Claflin that addresses health disparities in HIV and HPV-mediated diseases.
