Bio Cube Assignment Language Arts 1. Choose a person you are interested in. This person could be living or dead, and could come from fields such as history, politics, sports, music, or science. I would prefer you choose a person you do not already know about. 2. Visit at least two reliable websites and read biographies about your person. I suggest www.wikipedia.com and www.biography.com/search 3. Take notes on the Bio-Cube Planning Sheet, or type your notes. Use these guidelines for your notes: o Use bullet points o Write down phrases, not complete sentences o Do not copy more than three words in a row from the biography without putting quotation marks around them 4. Go to the Bio-Cube Creator at www.readwritethink.org/files/resources/interactives/bio_cube/ You can also access the Bio-Cube Creator by typing “Bio Cube” into Google. It should be the first hit. 5. Use the Bio-Cube Creator and your notes to write a biography of your person. You should use complete sentences, but you will notice that there is a limit to how much you can write. Try to write in detail, but to choose words carefully so you can fit in the most information possible. 6. Print your Bio-Cube (you may want to spell-check by copying your text into Word and pasting it back into the Bio-Cube). 7. You will use your Bio-Cube to give a short speech about your person to the class.
